At noon Thursday, people are invited to gather in front of the Bulloch County Courthouse and unite in prayer.

This will be the 13th consecutive annual local observance of the National Day of Prayer, and the 63rd annual national celebration.

This year's theme is "One Voice, United in Prayer," emphasizing the need for individuals to join together in corporate prayer.

The theme Scripture is Romans 15:6, "so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

"This 63rd annual national observance on May 1 will have profound significance for our country," John Bornschein, National Day of Prayer Task Force vice chairman, said in a news release. "By joining together in prayer, we have an unprecedented opportunity to see the Lord's healing and renewing power made manifest as we call upon citizens to humbly come before His throne."
