Kevin D. Brady, a self-published author from Statesboro, recently released his 10th book.

"The Self-Defense App" tells about “a new phone app that allows a person to mash a button on their phone to get the help of a muscular hero to get them out of a predicament,” he said.

Brady, a Statesboro High School Class of 1985 graduate and Georgia Southern University graduate (1998), penned several short books based on ideas and situations encountered in life.

“Ghostly Encounters” is an account of paranormal experiences he and his family faced, mainly in his family house in Clito. “The Sinless House” tells about a “black preacher in the early twentieth century who is forced to do the unthinkable and consequently must flee his home during the night and start over up North,” he said.

“A Helluva Home” shares the tale of a young couple who buy am inexpensive home with money given to them as a wedding gift and discovers the house is haunted

Other books by Brady include “Fat-Man: the Dream Hero,” the story of a corpulent young boy, constantly teased about his weight by a class bully. The boy creates an imaginary overweight superhero and becomes that hero whenever he falls asleep.

Additional titles include “Funny Things Mama Said and Did,” “Won’t God Do It?”, “Blood Thirst” and “The Officer.”

 Brady is the eldest son of five siblings from the late parents, Dosy and Lula Brady.  Born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL., he came to Statesboro in 1980 with his family. Writing has always been a hobby, and in 2015, he found the independent publishers Smashwords and Createspace and decided to begin writing.

Brady enjoys church, reading, fishing, writing, car shows, sports and spending time with his three grandchildren.
