Hail behind courthouse repairs
Insurance to pay for roof work
W 061617 COURTHOUSE RENOVATION 03
Workers take a day off Friday, but signs of continuing renovation at the Bulloch County Courthouse remain.
Hail damage from recent storms is the reason huge cranes began appearing last week outside the Bulloch County Courthouse. While maintenance and roof repairs have been ongoing, with the county having spent more than $182,000 previously on leaks and deteriorating bricks and mortar, an insurance company approved a claim for the hail damage that will help the county complete other planned roof repairs as well, said Bulloch County Manager Tom Couch. The insurance claim amount was about $200,000, but Couch did not have exact figures available Friday.
