It will be an evening of art on Friday in downtown Statesboro.

The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, along with businesses and regional artists, will host "Downtown Arts" from 5:30–8 p.m.

Many downtown businesses will stay open late Friday as they are paired with a local artist — offering an opportunity to buy local and discover local artists.

"This is a great way to highlight these amazing artists, and also show off our downtown businesses," said Allen Muldrew, executive director of Downtown Statesboro Development Authority.

The different displays of art will encompass diverse media, including paintings, ceramics, jewelry, drawings, decorative arts, photography and installation.

The public is invited to visit their favorite shops while browsing a variety of artwork from local artists. A guide will be available to show where the participating shops are located.

The 2024 art showcase includes the works of Crystal Holman, Heather Gonzales, Julianna Leverette, Brendan Cave, Michelle Tann, Penny Marz, Sally Minton, Jessica Blanton, Jasmine Leach, Lois Harvey, Margo McCoy, Cameron Harrison and Georgia Southern University students.

Also, the Statesboro Regional Art Association will exhibit local pieces in the "BIG" alley on East Main St.

DJ Randy will provide music at the courthouse. Vendors and food trucks will be located near the courthouse for additional shopping.

First Fridays are made possible by the support of sponsors: American Roofing, Aspen Aerogels,  Colony Bank, CORE Credit, Coca-Cola,  East Ga Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, JC Lewis Ford, Georgia Power, Hendley Properties, Party Harbor, Party Impressions, Manack Signature Properties, Morris Bank, McLendon Enterprises, Shoemaker Equipment Supply, Southern Chiropractor & Wellness Center, Statesboro Properties, Statesboro Oral Surgery, Statesboro Urgent Care, Tormenta FC, Vyve Broadband, and NECCO.
