Statesboro Police Arrests
    Arrests made Saturday through Monday will be reported Tuesday.
     Michael Cochise Joyce, 22, Tech Drive, Savannah — seat belt violation, driving while unlicensed.
    Ricardo Montesinos Espinosa, 21, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive — driving while unlicensed, headlights violation.
    Angel Luis Padilla, 33, K Street, Philadelphia PA — seat belt violation, driving with a suspended license.
    
Bulloch Sheriff's Arrests
    Arrests made Thursday through Monday will be reported Tuesday.
        
Georgia State Patrol Arrests
    Arrests made Friday through Monday will be reported Tuesday.
        
Georgia Southern University Arrests
    Arrests made Friday through Monday will be reported Tuesday.
           
Statesboro Police Incidents
    Incidents occurring Saturday through Monday will be reported Tuesday.
     SAV-A-LOT — A woman told police another woman struck her and pushed her eight-year-old sister down.
    In a separate incident a man stuffed two packs of chicken in his clothing and fled.
    DIXIE FOODS — A man was found not breathing and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
    BELK — A man said someone approached him in  the parking lot, trying to sell a hone stereo for $800 he said was a surplus item. When  the complainant said he had no money, a passenger in the suspicious car offered to go with him to an ATM and wait so he could get the money.
    UNIVERSITY PLAZA — A woman said a suspicious man displayed a knife to her friend. When police arrived they saw a man being evicted from Rude Rudy's who matched the description, and who had the knife on his person. He struggled with police before being arrested on disorderly conduct charges.
    In a separate incident a woman at Rude Rudy's told police she gave her car keys to her ex-boyfriend and his cousin, so they could sit in the car and try to ease a headache. When the woman went to get her car, it was gone.
    BUFFALOS — Several men were involved in a fight, one of whom had a laceration above his eye. Lack of evidence led to no one being arrested. However, one man allegedly involved was evicted from the restaurant but refused orders to leave the premises. He was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
    
Bulloch Sheriff's Incidents
    LEEFIELD STATION ROAD — (Brooklet) A man said he sold a rifle to a man via web site and the buyer has been harassing him because he said he did not receive what he ordered. He has been sending the complainant threatening messages.
    BLACKBERRY COURT — (Statesboro) A woman reported receiving harassing phone calls from a woman who threatened to choke her.
    BASS COURT — (Clito) A woman said her son became irate when she refused to give him the family van keys. He cursed her and broke a door.
    LANGSTON CHAPEL MIDDLE SCHOOL — (Statesboro) Students involved in a fight were arrested.

    During the period between Jan. 5-11, the Statesboro-Bulloch County Animal Shelter recorded the following activity:
    Animals received:
    Bulloch County Humane Enforcement, rural areas — 11 dogs and 10 cats.
    Bulloch County Humane Enforcement, Statesboro city limits — 10 dogs and four cats.
    Bulloch County Humane Enforcement, Brooklet city limits — three dogs.
    Abandoned at shelter — five dogs.
    Surrendered by citizens — five dogs and nine cats.
    Number in litters surrendered — seven puppies and seven kittens.
    Animals outgoing:
    Shelter adoptions — one dog.
    Returned to owners — one dog.
    Escaped — one dog.
    Died at shelter — one dog.
    Euthanized from isolation floor — 13 dogs and 12 cats.
    Euthanized from adoption floor — one dog.
