Composer Marvin Hamlisch to appear at GSU PAC

STATESBORO — Legendary composer Marvin Hamlisch will appear at Georgia Southern University’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) on Sunday,  Jan. 22 at 3 p.m.
    Hamlisch is one of only two people in history to win a Tony, Grammy, Emmy, Oscar and Pulitzer Prize for his work. Hamlisch is the composer of the musical A Chorus Line, as well as Broadway’s The Goodbye Girl, and The Sweet Smell of Success. He composed original scores for motion pictures that include The Way We Were, Sophie’s Choice and Ordinary People.
    Hamlisch holds the position of principal pops conductor for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony and Pops, Seattle Symphony and San Diego Symphony.
    Hamlisch will be joined onstage during this performance by vocalist Stephen Lehew, whose credits include roles on Broadway and television appearances including PBS’s “Evening at Pop’s.”
