Sanders, Martin earn promotions at Sea Island Bank

        Sea Island Bank, a division of Synovus Bank, announced recently that Steven Sanders was promoted to branch manager and Johnny Martin as promoted to assistant branch manager of the main office.
        In his new role, Sanders will oversee the daily branch operations as well as manage branch profitability, sales, customer service and staff development. Sanders also will continue to develop and maintain a retail/small business loan and deposit portfolio.
        Martin also will assist in the administrative functions of the branch while providing customer service to retail and commercial customers. In addition, Martin will have lending responsibilities and will pursue new loan and deposit customers.

        Sanders most recently served as vice president and business banker at the main office of Sea Island Bank. He is a 2000 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a BBA in Finance. Also, Sanders is a 2014 graduate from the Georgia Bankers Association's "Georgia Banking School." He is an active member of Kiwanis Club of Statesboro, a member of the Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department's Recreation Advisory Committee, and a Board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Bulloch County.
        Martin most recently was a personal banker at the Sea Island Bank main office. Prior to working at the main office, he was with the Private Client Group at Sea Island Bank's Market District office, for two years. Martin is a 2009 graduate of the Georgia Southern College of Business Administration, where he received a BBA in Finance. During his four years at Sea Island Bank Martin has been actively involved with the Statesboro Kiwanis Club, and he is a member of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro.
