Hospital Authority gives OTC grant

            The Ogeechee Tech Foundation, Inc. was recently the recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Bulloch County Hospital Authority for use in supporting Health Science students at Ogeechee Technical College. The grant will allow the Foundation to assist 10 OTC students with scholarships. All 10 of the students receiving the Hospital Authority assistance are residents of Bulloch County.

In providing the grant Hospital Authority Chair Anna Swicord said, “We are pleased to present this grant to aid Ogeechee Tech in improving the health care for the citizens of Bulloch County by providing health care training.” 

            The Bulloch County Hospital Authority annually provides a number of grants to health related entities within Bulloch County.

            Ogeechee Technical College president, Dr. Dawn Cartee, expressed her appreciation for the grant by saying, “This very generous contribution to our Foundation will allow assistance to 10 Health Science students who will soon be capable of contributing to the health care needs of Bulloch County with the training they receive at Ogeechee Tech.” 

            The grant was completed by Janice Alberson of Ogeechee Tech in accordance with guidelines established by the Hospital Foundation.

            “Completion of this grant application was minimal work for such a great benefit to a number of our students,” Alberson saied.

            “We hope this method of support is available to our students for many years to come,” Cartee said.
