Gary Davis named to Farmers & Merchants Board

            Gary Davis has been named as the newest member to serve on the Board of Directors of Farmers and Merchants Bank.  The announcement was made by FMB President, Ricky Nessmith.

            A graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and Georgia Southern University where he earned a BBA Degree in Accounting, Davis is President of GMD Services which owns and operates six Subway restaurants in Bulloch County.  His firm was named Small Business of the Year in 2005 by the Statesboro -Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce and has received numerous awards from Subway for sales and performance.

            Davis civic involvement includes serving as Chairman of the Board of Forest Heights Country Club, Treasurer of the Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau, and he was named 2006-2007 Alumnus of the Year by Georgia Southern University’s College of Business Administration. 

            Commenting on the appointment, Nessmith said, “Gary’s career embodies all that our bank strives to be.  His business has been extremely successful because of consistent quality and excellent customer service, and he’s been at the heart of many important organizations and events that have improved the quality of life for everyone in the community.  This makes him a perfect fit within the FMB commitment to our customers and community.”
