Award-winning gospel music legends Gold City to perform in Emma Kelly Theater Sept. 5
Gold City
The Southern Gospel quartet Gold City will play Sept. 5 in the Emma Kelly Theater.

The iconic Southern Gospel quartet Gold City will stage a special afternoon performance on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 3 p.m. on the Emma Kelly stage inside the Averitt Center.

Performing as part of their “Rise Up 2026” tour, the group promises an uplifting experience filled with harmonies, powerful faith testimonies and fan-favorite hits.

Since their formation in 1980, Gold City has been setting a high standard for gospel music worldwide. Originally rooted in Dahlonega, in north Georgia, the group has spent more than four decades using their musical talents to honor God, witness to the lost and encourage the saved.

They have recorded 12 number one gospel songs, multiple radio hits, and a prestigious Gospel Music Association Dove Award.

Gold City’s impact on the genre was further highlighted by their induction into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame and earning more than 60 “Singing News Fan Awards.”

With their music spanning five decades, the quartet remains as relevant today as they were when they first harmonized.

"We are incredibly honored to host Gold City in our intimate, historical theater as part of our milestone Summer/Fall 2026 season," said Robert Faller, executive director for the Averitt Center. "Their signature, trend-setting style and timeless spiritual message provide the exact type of community-enriching live music that our audiences cherish".
