All of Bulloch County Schools' campuses will be open on a normal schedule on Monday, Hayley Greene, spokesperson for the school system, announced Sunday afternoon.
"We are in regular contact with the Bulloch County Emergency Management Agency as they monitor weather and road conditions and how our school system may be affected," Green said.
Green said the system's transportation department, along with Bulloch County Emergency Management is assessing road conditions across the county, especially along the 101 school bus routes.
"As of 2 p.m. on Sunday, Bulloch County EMA had not announced any road closures," Green said. "Should any areas become affected by road closures or conditions that prevent bus travel, our transportation department will contact families whose bus transportation may be temporarily interrupted."
Also, Green said school administrators would work with any families who live in areas that received confirmed damage.
"We encourage parents to caution their student drivers to drive slowly and leave plenty of time and space for breaking," Greene said. "Never drive through water over a road as it takes only several inches of water to disable some vehicles. Parents may also want to evaluate if their student drivers have adequate experience with driving in wet conditions, and if not, parents may want to provide transportation for them Monday".
Greene said the school system would continue to monitor announcements from the Bulloch County EMA, local media, and Bulloch County Schools.
