A teenager was arrested following a shooting incident Sunday afternoon at Cone Homes in Statesboro.

According to a release from Capt. Jared Akins with the Statesboro Police Department, officers were sent to the complex on Northside Drive East at 5:35 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a subject seen in the complex with a firearm.

As those officers responded, the email stated, Flock gunshot detection sensors registered a shot being fired in the area.

“An 18-year-old male resident of the complex was located by officers suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen,” Akins said. “He was transported to Memorial Health in Savannah and later released after treatment.”

Detectives responded to the location and conducted searches of two separate scenes and an apartment inside the complex, along with multiple interviews.

“Based on the efforts of both patrol officers and detectives, Logan Ware, 18, of Statesboro was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime,” Akins said.

The shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the tenants of two apartments within the complex.

Ware was transported to the Bulloch County Jail where he remains pending further judicial action.
