Mary Lucille Smith and Brandon Nicholas Rowland

    Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Smith Jr. of Statesboro announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Lucille Smith of Warner Robins, Ga., to Brandon Nicholas Rowland of Dublin, Ga. The future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Rowland of Dublin.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.H. DeLoach of Statesboro. She is also the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Bennett Smith and the late Dr. J. Robert Smith of Statesboro. Miss Smith graduated as an honor graduate of Statesboro High School in 2005. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Modern Languages, emphasis in Spanish, in 2009. In December 2010, she graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching, emphasis in Foreign Language Education. She has taught high school Spanish for three years in the Laurens County and Peach County school systems.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Bill Tom Rowland of Chester, Ga., and the late Mary Landrum of Dublin. He is also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Adkins of Montrose, Ga. Mr. Rowland graduated with honors from West Laurens High School in 2003. He attended Middle Georgia College and the University of Georgia. He also attended the Medical College of Georgia, where he graduated magna cum laude while receiving a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2009. He currently works as a physician assistant at Middle Georgia Urology Associates in Dublin.
    The wedding will take place October 19, 2013, at 5 p.m. at Olde Homeplace, Statesboro, home of the bride’s parents. A reception will follow.
    No local invitations are being sent. Friends and family are invited to attend.
