    Mr. and Mrs. DeSaussure Dugas Smith IV of Swainsboro, Mrs. Debbie Peebles Rushing of Statesboro and Mr. Stephen Hodges Rushing Sr. of Statesboro, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sally Sierra Smith of Statesboro, to Pratt Edward Mathews of Statesboro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith Mathews of Statesboro.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Nell Peebles Roberts of Evans, Georgia, and the late Mr. Larry Franklin Peebles of Swainsboro and Lt. Col. and Mrs. DeSaussure Dugas Smith III of Swainsboro and Mrs. Tanya Elizabeth Smith of Dublin, the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Rushing Jr. of Statesboro and the late Mr. Eugene Talmadge and Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Jesup, Georgia. Sally is a 2010 graduate of Statesboro High School and is a 2014 graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disorders. She is a member of the Kappa Beta chapter of Phi Mu and is currently completing her masters of education in communication sciences and disorders at Valdosta State University.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Ruth Icenogle McCann and the late Mr. Robert Russell McCann and Mrs. Jean Smith Mathews and the late Mr. Charlie Joe Mathews. Pratt is a 2010 graduate of Statesboro High School and is a 2014 graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing. He is a charter member of the Lambda Mu chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Valdosta State University and is currently the production operations manager at Southbound Brewing Company in Savannah.
    The couple is planning to wed on December 12, 2015, at 6 o'clock in the evening at the First Baptist Church in Statesboro followed by a reception to be held at The Belle House.
    Formal invitations will follow.
    The couple will reside in Savannah.
