Mr. and Mrs. Eric and Cindy Simms of Millen, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Hannah Grace Simms of Portal, Ga., to Christopher Colby Eskew, son of Mr. Rusty Eskew of Waynesboro, Ga., and Ms. Carol Colson of Portal.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Rose Marie Simms and the late Mr. Robert Simms of Martinez, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dempsey of Millen, and Ms. Ann Hanks of Memphis, Tenn. Hannah is a 2011 homeschool graduate. She attended farrier school at Danny Ward's Horseshoeing School in Martinsville, Va., and is self-employed as a farrier and horse trainer.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Colson of Statesboro, Ga., and Mr. Julian Eskew and the late Mrs. Julian Eskew of Waynesboro. Christopher is a 2011 graduate of Portal High School and a 2013 graduate of Ogeechee Technical College with a certificate in welding science. He is currently employed by Colson Construction.

The couple has planned to wed on October 29, 2016, at 6 p.m. at Iron Rose Farms, located at 1886 Two Chop Road, Portal.
