Dr. and Mrs. James Rakestraw of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Molly of Reston, Va., to Bora Bakal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Recai Bakal.
       The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schilling, the late Berry Schilling and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rakestraw. Molly is a 1998 graduate of Statesboro High School and a 2002 graduate of Georgia Southern University. She is the manager of Human Resources at Oberthur Technologies in Chantilly, Va.
       The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hüseyin Bakal and Mr. and Mrs. Hüseyin Ugural. Bora received his undergraduate degree from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, and his graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is the director of Software Systems at Oberthur Technologies in Chantilly, Va.
       The couple has planned to wed on April 9, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. on Jekyll Island.
