Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Price of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Veal Price, to Michael Gerard Allain, son of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Elmore Allain of Atlanta, Georgia.
    Catherine is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Roy Thigpen Sr. of Statesboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Clark Price of Cedartown. She graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan, in 2003 and went on to earn degrees in music performance from the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. Catherine is currently a member of the Atlanta Opera Orchestra and performs and teaches regularly in the Atlanta area.
    Michael is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beinert of New Orleans, Louisiana, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Allain, also of New Orleans. He graduated from Catholic High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1997, attended Old Dominion University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and went on to become a commercial airline pilot. Michael is currently a first officer with AirTran Airways.
    Catherine and Michael will marry in October in Atlanta.
