Jimmy and Marion Phillips of Douglas, Ga., and Donna Dent of Ocilla, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Rae Phillips, to Jamie Anderson Brannen, son of Jackie and Jill Brannen of Statesboro, Ga.
    Whitney is the granddaughter of Burts and Betty Register of Rentz, Ga., and the late Keely and Lois Phillips of Ocilla. She is a 2006 honor graduate of Irwin County High School and is a 2010 cum laude graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University with a BSN in Nursing. She is currently employed by Amedisys Home Health Care in Rincon, Ga., where she works as a registered nurse and is the clinical manager.
    Jamie is the grandson of Jack and Catherine Brannen of Statesboro and the late Joseph and Virginia Cook of Valley, Ala. He is a 2005 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College after high school and is currently employed by Brannen Family Farms in Statesboro.
    The wedding date is set for September 7, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. at Beaver Creek Plantation in Twin City, Ga.
