Mr. and Mrs. Ben Robert Nessmith Jr. of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Rebecca Nessmith of Waycross, Georgia, to Christopher Bentley Gaskins of Jacksonville, Florida, son of Dr. Ralph Gaskins Jr. and Mrs. Jayne Gaskins.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Rebecca Nessmith and the late Mr. Ben Robert Nessmith Sr. of Statesboro and Mrs. Cubia Dasher and the late Mr. Remer Dasher of Augusta, Ga. She is a 2002 graduate of Statesboro High School and received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Georgia Southern University in 2007. She is currently employed in Blackshear, Ga., at Blackshear Elementary School.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gaskins Sr. and the late Col. and Mrs. Byrnes Francis Bentley. He is a 2004 graduate of Riverwood High School in Sandy Springs, Ga., and received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Georgia Southern University in 2010. He is currently enrolled at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Fla., class of 2013.
    The couple plans to wed in December. Invitations have been sent.
