Mr. and Mrs. John Stafford Meeks of Douglas, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, KaDee Benson Meeks, to Christopher O'Neil Scott, son of Mrs. Niki Ansley Scott Fields of Portal, Ga., and the late Raymond O'Neil Scott of Leefield, Ga.

The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of the late Leila Young Tanner and James T. Tanner Sr. of Douglas and the paternal granddaughter of Martha Jean Pridgen Meeks and the late Roscoe Meeks of Douglas. She is a 2000 graduate of Coffee County High School and attended South Georgia College and East Central Technical College. KaDee is currently a nurse at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

The groom-elect is the maternal grandson of the late Jack and Arnie Ruth Ansley of Statesboro and the paternal grandson of the late Cecil and Zona Belle Scott of Leefield. He is a 1989 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and received a B.S. in education from the University of Georgia in 1994. While attending UGA, he was a member of the football team from 1990-1994. He is currently the president of Leefield Enterprises, Inc., of Statesboro.

The wedding is planned for April 2, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the home of the bride's parents in Douglas.
