Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mallard of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Christina Mallard, to Brice Samuel Parker, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Parker of New Zion, S.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Virginia Evans and the late Clarence Evans of Cameron, S.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mallard of Statesboro. Christie is a 2006 graduate of Bulloch Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the College of Charleston and a master's of speech pathology from the University of South Carolina. Christie is employed by Select Rehabilitation in Georgetown, S.C.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal Parker of New Zion and the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McKnight of Scranton, S.C. Brice is a 2005 graduate of Orangeburg Preparatory School in Orangeburg, S.C. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering at The Citadel. Brice is employed by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The couple will wed on August 6, 2016, in Charleston, S.C.
