Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Akins of Register joyfully announce the marriage of their daughter, Samantha Kate Akins, to Cy Jacob Gilbreth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marty Gilbreth of Bellville.

Samantha is the granddaughter of Wanda Reeves and the late Jack Reeves of Portal and Franklin and Linda Akins of Register. Samantha is a 2012 graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy and a 2016 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in nutrition and food science. She will attend Saint Louis University in the fall to pursue a master's degree and complete a nutrition therapy dietetic internship.

Cy is the grandson of Benny and Judy Gilbreth of Claxton and James and Lou Greenwell of Glendale, Ky. Cy is a 2011 graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy and a 2015 graduate of Georgia Southern University with dual Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in logistics and intermodal transportation and in marketing research. He is currently employed at the corporate offices of Nestlé Purina in Saint Louis, Mo.

After the couple was wed on June 4, 2016, at the Botanic Garden at Georgia Southern University, they honeymooned in Napa Valley and San Francisco, Calif.

Cy and Samantha now reside in Saint Louis.
