Susan Elisabeth Adams and Richard Lewis Sisson of Statesboro were united in marriage on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 6:00 in the evening at Pittman Park United Methodist Church of Statesboro. Pastor Tim Steffen of Statesboro officiated.
    The music was provided by Mrs. Becky Woodard, organist; and Dr. Natalia da Roza, pianist. Special selections were provided in prelude to the wedding and during the ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John C Adams Jr. of Statesboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Adams Sr. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Everett B. Stubbs, all of Statesboro.
    The groom is the son of Mr. James B. Sisson and Mrs. Gail Sisson, also of Statesboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James L. Sisson of Statesboro and Mr. and Mrs. Richard O. Schoch of Richmond Hill, Ga.
    Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, Elisabeth wore a sheath wedding gown of ivory crinkled chiffon. The gown was embellished with chiffon floral accents along the top of the bodice, with vertical pin tucking the entire length of the front and back of the gown. The hemline was encircled with ruffled chiffon ending in a graceful train. The back was detailed with a row of delicately covered buttons.
    Elisabeth wore her mother's chapel-length wedding veil of lace-trimmed illusion, which flowed slightly beyond the gown. She carried a bouquet of her favorite flowers including sunflowers, purple asters and orange Gerbera daisies. The hand-tied bouquet was accented with hanging amaranthus, solidago and bupleurum.
    Carrie Allen Adams of St. Louis, Mo., sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Meg Shipley Adams of Atlanta, also sister-in-law of the bride; Eleanor Stubbs Bishop of Greenville, S.C., Ashley Cleghorn Carter of Villa Rica, Ga., Ginger McAvoy DiMascio of Eatonton and Gena Kennedy Manning of Statesboro.
    The bridesmaids wore tea-length mink-colored chiffon gowns with spaghetti straps and a scooped neckline with floral details of chiffon. They carried wildflower bouquets similar to the bride's and small wildflowers in their hair.
    Elisabeth was led into the sanctuary by flower girls dressed in champagne chiffon dresses adorned with mink and ivory ribbons. They scattered daisy petals along the way and wore tiny wildflowers in their hair. The flower girls were Ava Elisabeth Adams, Annabelle Albright Adams, Lila Simone Adams, all nieces of the bride; and Chelsea Gwendolyn Bishop, cousin of the bride. Kaylee Ann Owen, niece of the groom; and Maggie Olive Gamble, friend of the bride and groom, completed the joyous group.
    Jimmy B. Sisson served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Ryan Burns and Jared Elton Sapp of Statesboro, Kelly Lee Thompson of Savannah and Glenn Charming Gamble of Phenix City, Ala.
    Gwen Fisher Stubbs and Susan Stubbs Jones, aunts of the bride, greeted guests at Pittman Park UMC and Jessie and Jenny Jones, cousins of the bride, were program attendants.
    Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Historic Beaver House Inn and Restaurant.
    The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica and will make their home in Rocky Mount, N.C.
