Students and parents gathered for fun math and literacy activities at the Luetta Moore Community Center Tuesday night, as part of the Julia P. Bryant Elementary School Home School Connect event.
Families gathered together for a meal, as well as to play learning games. The activities were designed to help encourage family engagement.
With the hopes of increasing early literacy in local children, Bulloch County Schools provided books at the event, and children were allowed to pick a book to take home. The goal is to ensure that all children can read on their grade level by third grade.
Ogeechee Technical College was also on hand to help students with their math skills, using games to make it more fun.
