Note: The following is part of a series of columns looking at points of interest throughout the history of Bulloch County. Fort Argyl (or Fort Argyll) The second Fort Argyl was built on the west bank just above where Jencks Bridge crosses the Ogeechee River today. One of the commanders of Fort Argyl was Lt. William Elbert of the King's 42nd Regiment of Foot, whom apparently was given his command by Brig.
