In just the last four years, the Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo has become one of the most anticipated events of the year in the Boro.
It's the only chance for area residents to see cowboys and cowgirls try to stay on buckin' broncs and bulls, rope calves and wrestle steers in their own backyard. Hedrick Rodeo Company brings all the must-have trappings for the event, too, such as the high jinks of the clown and fun activities for the kids. A new wrinkle this year was the Bulls, Broncs & BBQ competition. And who can forget Miss Rodeo USA?
The rodeo played out for two nights, April 11–12, under ideal weather conditions at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fairgrounds.
The Statesboro Kiwanis Club organizes the rodeo, and the event's popularity has quickly propelled it into one of the biggest fundraisers for the service organization.
