Food Service inspections - May and June

       The following are among the food service establishments inspected in May and June by the Bulloch County Health Department. The department scores on a 100-percentile scale. Kitchens are inspected at least every four months and are required to post their score sheets in public. The score and selected comments from health inspectors are included in each report. Get paper towels at hand sink. All potentially-hazardous food items must be held at 135 degrees F or above. Get thermometers in all coolers/freezers. Coconut Thai Cuisine, 7 College Plaza Score: 96

Invert all plates, pots and pans to protect serving surface; corrected on-site. Cutting boards must be smooth and easily cleanable. Clean the outside of the sinks and the tops of dishwasher, storage bins and shelf by dessert cooler. Repair peeling walls where needed. Very clean. Fantastic job. Inspector: McKanna.

Cooks must wash hands after touching clothing, cell phones, hair or body parts. Cooks cannot have bare-hand contact with ready-to-eat food items; must use gloves, tongs or wax paper. Must have soap and paper towels at hand sink. Hand sink must be in proper working order. Discard any shell eggs with cracked or broken shells. All food items must be covered when not in use. All potentially-hazardous food items must be held cold at 41 degrees F or below. All toxic materials must be store in correct containers to prevent food contamination. Get thermometers in all coolers/freezers. All cloths must be stored in sanitizing solution or dirty towel container when not in use. Repair plumbing at hand sink. Rid kitchen area of flies. Hand sink must be repaired within 24 hours. Inspector: Thomas.

Get thermometers in all coolers/freezers. Personal food items must be stored separate from other food items and food contact surfaces. Do not use cardboard as a liner. Food contact and non-food contact surfaces must be sealed and easily cleanable. Inspector: Thomas.

Cover all foods in coolers and freezers - potatoes, meat. Store utensils so that only handles are touched. Pans that hold clean utensils or other food contact items must be dry. Protect single-use items - coffee filters and small bowls. Damaged plastic container needs to be replaced. Clean floor in walk-in cooler. Repair walls and floor where needed. Hold water. Fix leaky faucets. Inspector: Jud Street.
