The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jacket football team are coming off an impressive scrimmage victory over Johnson as they prepare for their season opener against Statesboro August 21.

The Jacket offense and defense both played well but an area coach Jason Anthony is excited about this year is his kicking game where junior Owen Turner has really stood out.

“Owen is a vital part of our program working as our kicker,” Anthony said. “Kickers at times are viewed as unsung heroes and that’s exactly what Owen is to this team.

“Owen works on his craft during practice and in his spare time away from the school, and it shows based off his development from last year to this year. I’m expecting a big year from our junior kicker moving forward into 2026 football season.”

“My role on the team is to come through when the team needs me at kicker,” Turner said. “Special teams are very strong this year because of our depth. I worked really hard this off season to improve my accuracy and distance. I feel very confident and prepared for the upcoming season.”
