The Statesboro softball team is off to a 2-1 start to the 2026 season. Head coach Karry Parker is hoping the Blue Devils can continue to build momentum into region play.
One of the key positions in softball is pitcher and Parker is happy to have senior Hannah Pepe on the mound and in the outfield to get things rolling this year.
“Hannah has worked hard this off season to develop her leadership role as well as fine tuning her pitching,” Parker said. “Her vocal leadership in center field is invaluable to us. Her positive energy this year has been recognized by the entire team. She is a force at the plate and on the mound.”
"I feel like my role on the team is to communicate and be more vocal,” Pepe said. “I can be positive and still stay accountable to my team.
“Our strength is bringing each other up if we make an error. I think our bond this season will help us do very good. We work together as one and rely on each other instead of one player.”
