The Statesboro softball team is off to an impressive 9-2 start to the season. Coach Karry Parker feels the improvement from a year ago is due to the play of her seniors and the leadership they have shown on and off the field. One of her key seniors who has stepped up is Ragan Fuller who has pitched in on the mound as well as the infield and at the plate.

“Ragan is a hard worker and very coachable,” Parker said. “She is very positive and leads by example as she never gets really down if things aren’t going our way. She is accountable and does anything we ask her to.

"She is a solid pitcher and when she’s not pitching, we know she will do a good job playing first base. She is one of our better hitters and she has already committed to play at Brewton Parker next fall.”

“I feel like one of the biggest strengths of our team is how close we all are,” Fuller said. “I think we are solid at the plate and in the field as well as on the mound. I think my role is to be a leader and lead by example.

"If I am on the mound or the infield, I try and be calm and help our player do the same. I think sharing time with Hannah on the mound really helps both of us as it helps us from not wearing down too much.”
