After coming off an impressive 33-7 win over Windsor Forest Oct. 9, the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets fell to Liberty County Friday night and are currently 3-5 on the season. In an up and down season. head coach Jason Anthony has been impressed with the continued growth of quarterback J.K. Small.
“We all knew J.K. could sling the ball but he has continued to show progress as a leader and is making better decisions out there,” Anthony said. “He is coachable which is the key to his growth. I have been impressed by his footwork and his overall demeanor.
“It’s hard to throw a sophomore out there into the fire but he’s responded really well. He has always had the arm strength but his accuracy has come around recently as well.”
“I have really tried to look at game film and study it to get better,” Small said. “I think my footwork has definitely improved from last year as well as my decision making and timing with me receivers. I have really gotten much better with an overall feel of the offense.”
