SEB ladies win a wild one
SEB

The Southeast Bulloch girls soccer team erased a one-goal deficit, surrendered a two-goal lead, and finally put on an impressive penalty kick display to claim a road victory over Jackson in the first round of the Class AAA state playoffs Thursday.
The Lady Yellow Jackets shook off a Red Devil goal in the first five minutes of action and seemed poised to run away with things as they tallied three in the back of the net before halftime.
Cole Robertson got SEB on the board, blasting a high shot into the net off a throw-in by Rayna Cowart. Robertson then assisted an Emily Barnard goal with a leading pass and the pair switched roles — with Barnard assisting Robertson — to give the Jackets a 3-1 halftime lead.
Jackson rebounded with a pair of early goals in the second half to knot it up once more. Neither team could break through in regulation and the game went into penalty kicks.
Red Devil shooters hit the posts on two of their three attempts while SEB keeper Madison Fields saved the third. Robertson, Ashley Owusu and Marissa Mobley all found the net to clinch the win for the Jackets.
SEB now moves to the second round where the Jackets will travel to Oconee County May 5.
