Clark was born in Claxton, Georgia, to Alfonso DeLoach and Gladys Clark DeLoach. He moved to Statesboro at 12 years old and graduated from Statesboro High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech.

He served in the U.S. Army in Germany for two years, followed by two years in the Virginia National Guard.

Clark was married to Jane Morris in 1957. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Newport News, Va., where Clark was employed in the Nuclear Engineering Department at Newport News Shipbuilding. He worked on construction of the USS Enterprise, the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, and nuclear submarine USS Robert E. Lee.

In 1966, Clark, Jane and children, Bonnie and Clark II, moved back to Statesboro, where Clark worked for Rockwell, Brooks Instrument, and later Fisher-Rosemount Petroleum as an engineer.

He was a member of Rotary Club of Statesboro for over 50 years, where he served as president from 2003-2004.

Clark was a member of Statesboro First United Methodist Church for 70 years, where he served on many committees and as a lay leader. Most recently, he was a member of Statesboro Worship.

He was active in many community organizations, including Statesboro Housing Authority, Statesboro Downtown Development Authority and Ogeechee Area Hospice. In 1998, Clark was presented the Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind Award.

Clark is survived by his wife, Jane Morris DeLoach; son, Clark Deloach II; grandchildren, Matt and Carolina Price, Ryan and Katie Price, Sarah and Victor Bello; great-grandchildren, Valrie, Anna and Abigail Price, Evelyn and Lizzie Price, Stella Bello.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Al DeLoach; and daughter, Bonnie DeLoach Price.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro with Dr. Hambric Brooks officiating. Burial will be private.
