Christine Rogers Altman, age 99, passed away October 11, 2026, in Statesboro. Ga.

Christine is a 1943 graduate of Statesboro High School and the Paris Beauty School.

She was married to Mr. J.G. Altman for 62 wonderful years and remained a faithful member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church and Faith Bible Study Class.

She worked for many years as a hairdresser and a prominent business owner in the city of Statesboro.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore R. Rogers and Mattie Newton Rogers; a sister, Evelyn Hodges; and her grandson; Fred Page III.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Altman; and daughter, Jane Altman Page (Greg Brock); and four grandchildren, John Brannen "JJ" Altman (Amy), Jill Altman Vickery (Bill), Jana Christine Newland (David) and John Page. She was the great-grandmother of 10 and great-great-grandmother of three. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Griffin; along with many nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Eastside Cemetery.
