She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers, Helen Parker, Elizabeth Thompson, Vivian Sapp (Thomas “TA”), Ellis Johnson, Cleve Johnson Jr. and Arthur Johnson; and one son, Terry Burns.

On May 18, 2024, Beatrice transitioned peacefully from this life surrounded by her children.

She joined and was baptized at Waters Grove Baptist Church.

After marriage, she joined and worked faithfully in the Ogeechee Church of God until her departure from this earthly world.

Beatrice was a 1958 graduate of Central High School. She was joined in holy matrimony to Charles Burns Sr. on June 29, 1958.

She had many jobs throughout her life to include a teacher’s assistant, nurse’s assistant and courthouse clerk.  She later attended Johnson School of Cosmetology and became a Master Cosmetologist for 38 years before she retired.

Beatrice was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved spending time with family and cooking.  She also loved going on car rides with her beloved husband that would have her back home before nightfall.  All of her children and grandchildren enjoyed her passion for cooking, giving advice and her sense of humor.
