An Atlanta woman injured Saturday in an accident on Veteran's Memorial Parkway remains in critical condition, police said.
Around 10:39 p.m. Saturday, a black 2002 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Britton Williams, 18, Atlanta, "left the roadway and came back onto the roadway ... crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a grey 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix," said Statesboro Police Chief Stan York.
The driver of the Grand Prix, Tralisha Mitchell, 25, Portal, as well as two juvenile passengers in her car, were taken to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where they were treated and released, said Statesboro Police Lt. Frank Roach.
Williams was also taken to the local hospital, but was later airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, he said.
Williams remained in critical condition Tuesday in the hospital's neurological intensive care unit, he said. The accident remains under investigation by Advanced Patrol Officer  Daniel Woodcock. Charges are pending, Roach said.
