Missing woman found safe and unharmed in Florida 
    A woman reported missing in June was found safe and unharmed in Florida, said Statesboro Police Capt. L. C. Williams. On June 23, Det. Tommy Brown asked citizens for help in locating Shanika Antwan Mincey, 26. Mincey was located in Miami and ' is reported to be doing well," Williams said. "Officers and detectives of the Statesboro Police Department appreciate all the calls and support from the community in this matter." Mincey's family was notified of her location, he said.

Two women arrested in separate shoplifting incidents  
  Statesboro Police arrested two woman in separate shoplifting incidents recently, said Capt. L. C. Williams.
    Det. Terry Briley investigated an incident Thursday at Belk where Terri Monique Gordon was charged with shoplifting after taking a $78 pair of pants without paying. Gordon, 26, Statesboro, was found with a pair of needle nosed pliers, commonly used for removing security devices from clothing, he said. She was also charged with possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and was found to be wanted for outstanding warrants in Tattnall County, he said.
    Monday Statesboro Police officers responded to Wal-Mart, where loss prevention officers reported a felony shoplifting incident. They told police Cynthia Ann Dixon Huckabee Bennett, 44, Savannah, and an unknown man tried taking computer items valued at over $1,700, Williams said.
    Briley also responded to this incident and gathered evidence and witness statements which resulted in Bennett being charged with felony shoplifting. She was arrested, then released "on her own recognizance due to a medical condition," he said.
