Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams is scheduled to speak during a rally at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the atrium of the Carroll Building on the Georgia Southern University campus.
Sponsored by the Young Democrats of Georgia Southern, the event is open to the public, said the organization’s President Eduardo Delgado.
“The Young Democrats are very excited to host the next governor of the state of Georgia,” Delgado said. “It’s an early voting rally. We’re making a get-out-the-vote effort, so we just really want to express enthusiasm for people to get out and vote.”
Early voting begins Monday for the Nov. 6 general election. At the top of the ballot, Republican nominee Brian Kemp, who is Georgia’s current secretary of state; Abrams, who was previously House minority leader in the Georgia Legislature; and Libertarian Ted Metz vie for the governor’s office.
