Spenser Thomas was named the March Employee of the Month at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Director of Marketing Jaime Riggs made the announcement in an email.
Thomas has been part of the team at EGRMC for over five years. She was nominated by her colleagues and a patient for her positive attitude, sense of ownership, her responsiveness and safety awareness, her commitment to providing quality service and her great work ethic while supporting her fellow Statesboro Imaging Center team members.
One nominator stated that, “Spencer goes above and beyond to ensure her States-boro Imaging Center patients are taken care of. She wants all of her patients to receive exceptional care and service. Patients often express perfectly the dedication that she has to her job and to having stellar customer service skills at the front desk.”
A patient expressed in a letter that Thomas “has been doing fine work at the Imaging Center. Spencer was kind, professional, courteous, and helpful after I came in several times over the course of two weeks to clear up some insurance issues.
"She rises above the normal receptionist. You have a jewel at SIC and I wanted to make sure you all knew. Being a retired vocational office training coordinator for the school system for over 30 years, I know excellence when I see it.
"Spenser Thomas is a vital asset to our team at EGRMC," said Stephen Pennington, CEO of EGRMC. "Her dedication and enthusiasm perfectly illustrate what it means to be an exemplary team member. She truly represents our mission of providing quality healthcare services."
