Screven sheriff seeks suspect
Kenya Green

Screven County Sheriff’s investigators are seeking information on the whereabouts of a man who fled from deputies Wednesday.

Screven County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brett Dickerson said Kenya Green, 41, who is wanted on outstanding warrants, sped away from deputy who spotted him as he passed him on the roadway and recognized him.

Green, of a Quail Road, Sylvania address, “has been wanted for quite some time,” he said. He is also sought on a bench warrant for previous violations.

The Screven County Sheriff’s deputy switched on blue lights in an effort to pull Green over, but Green continued driving with the deputy in pursuit from Cooperville into Bulloch County, he said.

The chase turned onto Old River Road, then down a lane to a private landing, where Green became stuck on a sandbar when he entered a dry riverbed area. Dickerson said.

Green abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies with tracking dogs trailed him to the water, but then the trail was lost, he said.

Anyone with information in Green’s whereabouts is asked to call the Screven County Sheriff’s Office at (912) 564-2013.
