A Lanier Drive man who left home Monday afternoon to run an errand never returned, and police hope citizens can help locate him.
Ronnie Boyd Ridgeway, 61, is listed as a missing person with the National Crime Information Center and Georgia National Crime Information Center, said Statesboro Police Capt. L. C. Williams. Lookouts have been posted to surrounding law enforcement agencies as well.
Ridgeway's wife and son met with Statesboro Police Det. Tommy Brown Tuesday and told him Ridgeway left home around 11 a.m. Monday to run an errand. After he did not return for some time, Janice Ridgeway "got worried and started calling his cell phone," Williams said. Ms. Ridgeway said "... when she called, it rolled over to his voice mail."
When her husband did not return Tuesday, she called police, he said.
Ridgeway may be driving a black 1995 four-door Landrover Discovery with tag number AQD 6221, and "It was reported (he) may be suffering from emotional difficulties and substance abuse," he said.
"Detectives of the Statesboro Police Department are still gathering information and following all leads as this investigation continues," he said. "Anyone with information in this incident should contact the Statesboro Police Department. All information received will be held in strict confidence."
The Statesboro Police Criminal Investigations Division telephone number if 764-1542. The main number for the department is 764-9911.
