A man who accompanied the teenage mother of his infant child to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office while she filed a battery complaint against him was also arrested on child molestation charges.
Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said a 15-year-old girl brought her infant with her to the sheriff’s office to file a domestic violence complaint Wednesday.
Also with her was the alleged offender in the domestic dispute, Gustavo Perez-Alvarez, 20, Cody Lane, Brooklet, he said.
The teen stated the domestic violence incident took place at a Cody Lane home, and showed deputies “visible injuries,” Anderson said. She said Perez-Alvarez caused the injuries during the dispute.
“Further inquiries by deputies determined that the infant child was the daughter of the 15-year-old female and Perez-Alvarez,” he said. The teen said she and Perez-Avarez “had a consensual sexual relationship since 2010.”
Due to the ages of both parties, Perez-Alvarez was charged with child molestation and statutory rape. Battery charges were added stemming from the domestic violence incident, he said.
Perez-Alvarez is being held at the Bulloch County Jail without bond. Anyone with information about the case can contact Inv. Walter Deal at (912) 764-8888 or submit online tips to firstname.lastname@example.org.
