A man shot Sunday at Blakewoods Apartments on East Olliff Street in Statesboro is in stable condition while the man who fired the shots is in jail. Statesboro police were called to the scene Sunday around 8 p.m. for reports of shots fired and found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound, said Madison Warren, Statesboro Police community information specialist. Officers determined Perry Leland Cooper, 32, “fired off several rounds at Blakewoods Apartments near the playground,” she said.
