Man, 25, accused of sexual assault of 16-year-old girl
Teen told police she was fondled inappropriately in man's home

A Harwood Street man is being held without bond regarding accusations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl who was visiting another teen in his home in August. Friday, Sept. 3, Statesboro Police officers arrested Phelix Theopis Jackson, 25, Harden Road, charging him with sexual battery and aggravated sexual battery, said Capt. Scott P. Brunson. The teenage girl told police Jackson fondled her inappropriately, filing the complaint almost a month after the incident The 16-year-old victim visited Jackson’s home Aug. 7, to spend the night with another juvenile female who lived in the same home as Jackson, he said.
