Editor:I would like to offer my genuine thanks to all those that helped us create the second annual “Dentistry from the Heart” event day, Dec. 12. Dentistry from the Heart is a worldwide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing dental care at no charge to those in need.We were able to provide 87 local citizens with free dentistry, to include emergency and preventive care, in an effort to make Christmas more comfortable for them.I’d like to start by thanking my wonderful staff that donated their services, beginning their day at7 a.m. and working tirelessly until 5:30 p.m. They were responsible for most of the pre-event planning and implementation of this compassionate program. Additionally, East Georgia Center for Oral and Facial Surgery was invaluable in their support, as they saw 50 patients with surgical needs.
