County has no business developing its own town

The headline in Friday’s newspaper “County manager wants to develop area at I-16, 301 South.” points out what is wrong with our government. We have people running our government that have no clue what local government responsibility is.
Tom Couch states he wants to develop this 220-acre tract to lure new industry to Bulloch County. It’s a noble endeavor, but not a function of local government. He has no right to use our hard earned tax dollars to pursue a private commercial business development project. If this is such a great idea, private business would be interested in developing this area to make a profit.

Keep the taxpayers out of this and focus on ways to lower our taxes Mr. Couch and County Commissioners.
