Mary P. Gentile recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She was born September 30th, 1925, in New Kensington, Pa. 

She attended Kent State in Ohio and upon graduation, she was hired by the Amherst, Ohio, school district, where she taught for 21 years. 

An open house was held in her honor at the Holiday Inn on Sept. 27.
