The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested and charged Nicholas Dahlquist of Statesboro with one count of sexual exploitation of children.
According to a release from the GBI, the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit received a CyberTip in January 2026 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possible online possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
The investigation ultimately led to Dahlquist’s arrest last month. He remains in the Bulloch County Jail, pending further legal action.
The GBI’s Regional Investigative Office in Statesboro, the Statesboro Police Department and the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
This investigation is part of the ongoing effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to the release, housed within the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit, to identify those involved in the trade of child sexual abuse material.
The Task Force, created by the U.S. Department of Justice, was developed in response to the increasing number of children and teenagers using the internet, the proliferation of child sexual abuse material and the heightened online activity by predators searching for unsupervised contact with underage victims.
