The Southeast Bulloch football team finished the 2026 season 4-6 and failed to make the post season.
A bright spot for first year head coach Jason Anthony has been the play of senior Eli Reed. Reed has excelled for the Jackets on both offense and defense this year as he leads the team in receiving touchdowns and has also played corner and safety on defense.
“Eli is one of those kids where if he catches the ball, he is really hard to tackle,” Anthony said. “Whether he is in the backfield where we have had him some or at receiver. He is one of those kids who takes it seriously in the weight room and I wasn’t sure how much he’d buy in when we took over but he has been great.
“He has really matured through the years and we are working hard to try and help him get a scholarship because he is good enough where he should be playing on Saturdays.”
“The season hasn’t gone the way we’d like it to have but we haven’t given up and we try to fight to the end,” Reed said. “When things went right, it was fun to be involved more in the offense and catch a few touchdowns and even run a few in.
“I like playing on offense and defense and it was nice to play both ways this season. The seniors we have been through a lot and we really wanted to end the season with a win Friday.”
