Georgia Southern University's production of “Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea” puts a whimsical twist on Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale “The Little Mermaid.” Written by Julia Izumi, the play follows a cast of unusual characters through a series of intertwining love stories that take unexpected turns, leaving the narrator struggling to keep his story on track.

Directed by Lisa L. Abbott, the production runs Oct. 14-18 at the Black Box Theatre inside Georgia Southern's Center for Art & Theatre on the Statesboro campus. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday. Tickets are $6 for students and $12 for general admission and may be purchased here.
